Making a Difference

Diana Mejia, founder of Wind of the Spirit, was recognized as a 2022 Russ Berrie Making a Difference Award Honoree for her tireless work in the fight for immigrant justice. Under his leadership, the organization has contributed to immigrant rights policies through organizing, advocacy, education and mobilization of immigrant and non-immigrant communities. For over 20 years, Wind of the Spirit has been at the forefront of movements challenging outdated immigration laws, fighting for just and humane policies.
