Diana Mejia is the founder of Wind of the Spirit in the fight for immigrant rights, her fundamental belief is to educate, organize and mobilize the community to achieve legislative changes towards a policy that benefits immigrant families, their quality of life and their working conditions.
Stuart Sydenstricker is the lead organizer of various OSHA campaigns, committees, collectives and trainings. His role is instrumental in advancing programs that promote educational equity for the immigrant community, such as ESL classes. Stuart also plays a key leadership role in guiding committee and collective meetings, ensuring their effectiveness and alignment with organizational goals.
Martha Lucía Gómez Hincapié is a dedicated community organizer at Wind of the Spirit and a passionate advocate for social justice and environmental causes. She believes deeply in the transformative power of community work to advance human and immigrant rights through collective action. Martha is an active member of the Colombian Human Rights Network and is committed to her personal and professional growth. Her vision is to contribute meaningfully to social change and advocate for just, humane and comprehensive immigration reform.
Jennifer Perez is a Journalist and Psychologist, working in the area of communications, social media management, newsletters and translations. Her topics of interest include: social justice, human rights and mental health. She believes it is important to explore narratives that contribute to the strengthening of our communities and promote integral and empathetic connections with our communities, reinforcing coexistence. She believes in the potential of narratives to strengthen coexistence and inspire positive social change.
Daniela Perez is a conservation biologist committed to advancing climate justice and clean energy solutions. At Wind of the Spirit, she supports translations, clean energy materials development, and climate justice initiatives. She believes that empowering vulnerable communities is essential to achieving lasting conservation outcomes. She strives to bridge the gap between scientific knowledge and community action, fostering inclusive solutions that address both environmental and social challenges.
Adam McGovern began volunteering with Wind of the Spirit in 2017 and, through his significant contributions, became a key member of their team. His work includes strategic planning for legislative campaigns, drafting and advising on media messages and organizational statements, presenting at public forums and partner meetings, and interacting directly with elected officials through meetings and correspondence. His efforts have resulted in notable accomplishments, such as securing co-sponsors for key bills, drafting resolutions adopted by public bodies, publishing op-eds and features in various media outlets, and fostering strong relationships with government staff and news organizations. Adam is proud of his heritage as a grateful grandson of immigrants from Romania, Russia, Ireland and Germany.
